This is my new favorite inexpensive wireless microphone system. It has excellent performance, and gives you the choice of 961 frequencies in each band so you are not stuck if someone else is using the same frequency. These systems are available in 3 different frequency bands, and have 6 pre-coordinated Groups in each band to allow up to 8 channels simultaneous operation in each band. The transmitters run on AA cells. Handheld transmitters are equipped with a very nice sounding supercardioid condenser mic element. Body-pack transmitters are supplied with MU-53LX cardioid condenser lapel mics, but can be used with other optional mics or with an instrument cord. Mipro MU-55HNSX omni headset mic in Tan
This is a waterproof miniature headset mic with a 4.5 mm diameter head. It hooks over both ears for maximum stability. The microphone boom can be placed on either side of the head and adjusted in length and angle. The portion of the boom just behind the mic capsule is a flexible subminiature gooseneck so the capsule can easily be angled as desired. A sweat drip ring is provided at the rear of the capsule to prevent sweat from reaching the capsule and blocking sound entry. This microphone is rated for 145 dB SPL so it can take the levels from singers as well as the spoken word.

As you can see from the response curve above this mic has a very smooth and extended frequency response. It is equipped with the "mini-xlr" connector used on all newer Mipro wireless body-packs. With the use of the MJ-53 phantom powered adaptor, it can also be used as a wired microphone. It can also be ordered with bare ends and no connector for use with other brands of wireless. The microphone and boom assembly, and the headset frame are available as separate replacement parts. The MU-55HNSX is $132.00 plus shipping.
